Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using our website and services.

By accessing or using this website (“the Site”) and any services provided by The Language Cafe (“the Company”, “we”, “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and any additional terms that apply to specific products or services. Using the Site in any manner, whether automated or otherwise, constitutes acceptance of these Terms.

Article 1a: Age limit

Our services are intended for individuals aged 18 and over.

We do not knowingly provide services to minors. If we discover that a user is under 18, their account will be removed and any payments made will be refunded.

By using our services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract.

Article 2:

Placing Order

By placing an order through our website, Stripe checkout pages, or any linked booking system (including Calendly), you confirm that:

  • You are legally capable of entering into binding contracts.

  • The information you provide is accurate and complete.

  • You understand that you are purchasing digital services (live online sessions).

Your booking is confirmed once payment is successfully processed.

Article 3: Price

All prices are listed in GBP (£).

Prices may change at any time; however, the price you pay will be the price displayed at the time of purchase.

No VAT is currently charged unless otherwise stated.

Article 4:

Your information

To place an order, you may be required to provide personal information such as:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Payment details

  • Billing address

You confirm that:

  1. You have the legal right to use the payment method provided. All information supplied is true and accurate. By submitting this information, you authorise us to share it with third‑party payment processors (e.g., Stripe) solely for the purpose of completing your purchase.

We do not store or have access to your full card details.

Article 5: Payment

Payment is due immediately on the date of the order, including for pre-order products.

Payment can be made through various payment methods we have available, such as Visa, MasterCard, Affinity Card, American Express cards or online payment methods (PayPal, for example).

Payment cards (credit cards or debit cards) are subject to validation checks and authorization by Your card issuer. If we do not receive the required authorization, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery of your order.

Article 6: Delivery of Service, Cancellations & Rescheduling

The Language Café provides digital services, not physical products.

After payment, you will receive an email containing:

  • Your booking link.

  • Session details.

  • Instructions for joining the online session.

It is your responsibility to ensure your email address is entered correctly.

Sessions are delivered live and require preparation, therefore the following policy applies:

  • Group sessions: non‑refundable once booked. You may reschedule up to 48 hours before the session.

  • 1:1 sessions: may be rescheduled if notice is given at least 24 hours before the session.

  • No‑shows: non‑refundable.

  • Membership: renews monthly; cancellations apply to the next billing cycle (minimum of 3 months applies).

If a session is cancelled by us (e.g., illness, technical issues), you will be offered:

  • A rescheduled session.

    or

  • A full refund for that session.

Article 7: Changes to these Terms and Conditions

You agree not to:

  • Misuse the Site.

  • Disrupt sessions.

  • Share meeting links publicly.

  • Record sessions without permission.

  • Behave in a way that is abusive, discriminatory, or inappropriate.

We reserve the right to remove any participant who breaches these rules, without refund.

Article 8: Company information

All content provided by The Language Cafe, including lesson materials, session topics, branding, and written content is the intellectual property of the Company and may not be copied, shared, or redistributed without permission.

Article 9:

Refund Policy

Refunds are only issued in the following cases:

  • The session was cancelled by us.

  • A technical failure on our side prevented the session from taking place.

  • An accidental duplicate payment.

Refunds are not issued for:

  • Missed sessions.

  • Late cancellations.

  • Change of mind after purchase.

  • Failure to attend due to personal scheduling issues.

  • A successful reschedule was booked.

Article 10:

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. If changes are significant, we will provide at least 30 days’ notice before they take effect.

Continued use of the Site after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
